Nicole Korin is the owner and lead esthetician of Skin Society Hawaii. She was born and raised in Oahu and graduated from Mililani High School. She went to the University of San Diego where she received a bachelor's degree in Business and Communications. After returning home, she became a Flight Attendant with Hawaiian Airlines and has been flying the friendly skies since! When the pandemic hit in 2020, the opportunity to take some time off encouraged her to pursue her lifelong passion for esthetics! She attended The Skin Institute Internationale in Honolulu and graduated in 2021. She immediately trained under 'On Point Aesthetics,' and took a huge leap of faith to purchase the company in April of 2022. 'On Point Aesthetics' officially rebranded in June 2022 and is now operating as Skin Society Hawaii!
Nicole's passion for esthetics started when she was a young adult. She struggled severely with acne, which left her with scars - both physically and emotionally. She took full advantage of being able to travel the world with Hawaiian Airlines, trying the latest in skincare technology and trends from places like Los Angeles, New York City, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and even China. For example, Nicole's been getting Microneedling done in Brisbane, Australia since 2018. This is by far her favorite treatment to give and receive! Her favorite natural skincare line Essano was purchased from a drugstore in Auckland, New Zealand. Her neatest experience was a Korean body exfoliation which included some form of lactic acid yogurt in Seoul. Skin Society Hawaii reflects all these amazing esthetic experiences abroad. When her dream of opening a local day spa became a reality, it was truly a blessing from God! With over a decade of customer service experience, Nicole believes in the value of genuine hospitality and succeding client expectations. Her future goals are to continue her education in this field, and learn other advanced services like permanent makeup; which includes brow shading, scalp pigmentation, and lip blushing. She also would like to create a society of skincare professionals by eventually opening up multiple locations around the islands and educating other professionals!
A message from Nicole -
"In my opinion, skin health doesn't need to break the bank. 60% of people have no idea what their skin type is or what products to use. Our skin has notably been damaged by daily life, everything from pollution to blue light to the overconsumption of sugars has caused an increase in oxidative stress - which ages us sooner than we'd like. After two decades of struggling with acne and trying everything the dermatologist could safely prescribe, I decided to educate myself instead. What I've learned in both trying services and attending a professional vocational school, is that a routine and regimen should be simple. We're bombarded by social media and 'influencers' who impact our skincare decisions ... when they have no idea what your specific skin type or condition is. I'm going to say this from experience- don't go to Sephora. They do have amazing products, and quality skincare.... but If you don't understand what YOU specifically need, you are wasting your money and possibly doing more damage than good. Only by going to a professional can you effectively comprehend the necessary management and maintenance of your specific concerns. If you're unsure where to start, either book a complimentary consultation or 'Just a Basic' Facial with us. This service is a great reset for your skin and gives us the ability to see the health of your barrier (the outer layer of skin, oil, water, debris, etc.) as well as have a conversation with you about your at-home regimen and the reality of expectations you might have. This is a process, and I would never lead you into believing otherwise. If you currently see someone who says different, run. There are medical procedures that will give you instant results, but those come with medical costs, including lots of harm done to both your body and bank account. We prefer to do things as naturally as possible... allowing your skin to work for you. I got into this business specifically to help others! It brings me joy to see clients, friends, and family happy with the health of their new, natural skin!"
We all struggle with some type of skin condition. Whether it's texture, fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, acne, dehydration, lack of collagen, dark circles, etc. In one way, that is the beautiful blessing of living long enough to age! However, there is a way to reverse and prevent these issues. We enjoy tailoring our services, using clinical-grade ingredients and a cocktail of treatments for every individual's specific concerns. Skin resets take time, so be patient with us and your skin!
Think of us like a dental office. You come in for routine cleaning and if there are ever any major issues, you get them treated as quickly as possible!! But after your dental visit, you don't just go home and wait till your next visit to brush your teeth again, right? (at least hopefully you don't!) No!! Your dentist instructs you to brush and floss twice a day! We are skin professionals. Therefore, we'll address major concerns in our spa, but we also encourage you to have a basic understanding of an at-home skincare regimen. Why? 80% of your skin's health is determined by your at-home routine!! Ask us to help you create one today!! We provide complimentary consultations (via zoom)... that's how much we love to help.
