ELITE FACIAL - 'NEW SKIN' Chemical peel
Chemical peels are a fantastic advanced esthetic treatment, known for its exfoliating magic.
Skin Society Hawaii offers two (2) levels of Chemical Peels:
1. Superficial Peel
- Great for a first-time peel!
- Epidermis level.
- No downtime.
- Mild flaking, possibly peeling.
- Tingling sensation.
- Slight erythema (redness)
- No sweating 24 hours post-peel.
2. Medium-Deep Peel
- Dermis level.
- Skin must be properly prepped using either our at-home SKIN PREP Kit or an approved regimen at least 3 weeks prior.
- Moderate erythema (redness).
- Spicy sensation.
- No sweating 72 hours post-peel.
- Downtime: 3-14 days. (flaking, redness, discomfort, etc.)
- Moderate peeling.
What is a Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels are either acids or enzymes, formulated to scientifically manipulate your cellular matrix. Depending on the acid or enzyme, the makeup of each peel will determine the outcome of the treatment. These ingredients aggressively 'eat away' at the glue that holds your skin cells together. They also stimulate new cell growth by removing dead and damaged skin cells, resulting in your skin's immune system 'resetting' itself. This reset produces hydration (via hyaluronic acid) and new collagen formation!
Chemical Peels address the following skin concerns:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne
- Enlarged pores
- Scarring
- Redness/Rosacea
- Hyperpigmentation/melasma
- Dull, damaged skin
Our Process:
This very effective facial is designed to highlight Glymed's Pharmaceutical-Grade Peels. We do a double cleanse, then apply Glymed's 'Cell Protection Balm' to the corners of the nose, lips, orbital bone, etc. to protect these sensitive areas. We then select a peel specific to your skin's needs and either allow it to sit and process for 5-15 minutes, or apply it via a 'layering technique.' This all depends on your skin type, concerns, and which peel we select for you.
