'Liquid Microneedling'

What are they?

Spicules are derived and harvested from several sources. Coral calcium, sea sponges, hydrolyzed sponges, and crystallized hyaluronic acid spears are to name a few. These tiny needle-like substances penetrate the bottom of the epidermis and create change in the cellular matrix of your skin's DNA. They also act as a delivery system, attacking damaged skin cells to stimulate the regeneration of new healthy cells! If you're familiar with Microneedling, which is a controlled ‘micro injury’ from the outside (using micro-needles to create wounds within your dermis, stimulating collagen production), then ‘Spiclues’ will make sense to you. This same theory is performed by embedding these spears and then allowing them to expand and dissolve over 72 hours. It provides you with the same results, but without the external damage Microneedling does. This technology is revolutionary, and will forever change esthetic treatments. 

Do they hurt?

Spicules feel just like they sound. However, it is not painful. 

How long are they active in the skin?

You may feel them for up to 72 hours, but their results will last for months to come. 

What are the differences?

We will determine which of the THREE (3) levels of ‘Spicules’ Treatments you will be receiving, depending on a few different factors; your skin type, your skin's health, and your specific concerns. 

Level 1. sMTS - Concentrated Hyaluronic Acid Spears: great for hydration and radiance.

Level 2. Princess Peel - Colloidal Gold Hydrolyzed Sea Sponges: amazing detox (acne) and firmness.

Level 3. Time Machine Peel -  Two types of GRAY Hydrolyzed Sea Sponges: ultimate anti-aging (scars, fine lines/wrinkles)

Is there downtime?

Flaking and or heavy peeling can be expected depending on the esthetician's level of penetration and which spicule is chosen. This is considered an 'Advanced Esthetic' treatment, so please review our pre/post care instructions, found on our FORMS page. Always, no sun and no sweating for at least 72 hours post-treatment.

How often can I receive this service?

Level 1 - sMTS can be performed weekly.

Level 2 - Princess Peel can be done every 2 weeks. 

Level 3 - The Time Machine Peel can be done every 3-4 weeks. 

Who's a candidate?

Everyone!! They are safe for pregnant, Fitzpatricks 4-6, and even those with active acne.
